Goddesses is a collection of Silk Scarves for Saga Kakala, Icelandic accessory brand that specialises in silk and cashmere products. Katrín Ólína's 100% silk pieces explore mythology and the idea of the Goddess from different times and cultures; Venus is featured in colorful feast of symbols. Freyja’s cats bask in the mint green Sun while Freyja’s tears turn to gold as they wash upon a pink shore in a land of plenty. Further, the primordial goddess Nótt pulls a veiled cosmic butterfly across the night sky and a powerful union of opposites bursts forth on a scarf dedicated to the ever evolving Self.

Evolving ‘I like to think of a sparkle of love and creativity that ripples continuously across the universe. We may travel far but never will we find the boundaries of the Self.’ Katrín Ólína

Freyja’s tears : ‘Norse Goddess of love and fertility was Freyja. She cried for her lost husband and her tears turned to gold as they fell on the Earth. I interpreted this myth as women's courage to turn sorrow into creativity and positive action’. Katrín Ólína

Nótt : ‘Primordial Goddess of Night. In Norse mythology she was called Nótt. At the end of the day, Nótt pulls the night across the sky and veils the heavens with a swirling dream.’ Katrín Ólína

Venus : ‘Born out of the sea foam, Venus is given to the world by the heaven and the sea.  Her trinkets include a mirror, sea shells, pebbles, pearls and braids of seaweed. Where ever she goes, the ultimate goddess of love radiates beauty as magnificent as the Sun itself.’ Katrín Ólína
