Friends of Steel

Iceland (2012)

Friends of Steel is a serices of furniture deriving from one of Ólína´s previous projects called Miklimeir.  The furniture pieces were produced by an Icelandic local steel workshop and are based on the strict processes of steel bending.  The series consists of the Bookdog, the Puffastool, the Black Lady table, Mirror and the Black Box cabinet.

As we all know, books, papers and magazines pile up around the home. That is where the faithful Bookdog bares its teeth. It carries your reading material on its back and will follow you wherever you go - bedroom, bathroom or sofa, never happier than when he's at your feet.
