Subplant-5 is Katrín Ólína's first large scale graphic installation. It was commissioned by art director Kari J. Brandtzaeg and the National Gallery in Oslo for the international exhibition 'Kiss the Frog!  the Art of Transformation' in 2005.

The exhibition discussed transformation in the creative fields in the digital age where the borders between artistic genres, materials and techniques was dissolving. Focusing on the new visual complexity that was developing internationally, the exhibition sought to shed a light on the changing role of architecture, design and art within the cultural-political field.

Ólína's mural, which was produced in the dimensions of five by ten meters for the Gallery offers a meditation on Nature and Ecology in times of Climate Change.
